Advances in Atrial Fibrillation and Cardiac Arrhythmias: Mechanisms, Diagnosis, and Therapy

Dear Colleagues,

Atrial fibrillation and cardiac arrhythmias continue to pose significant clinical and public health challenges, driven by complex pathophysiological mechanisms and increasing prevalence worldwide. This Special Issue aims to highlight recent advances across the entire spectrum of arrhythmia research—including fundamental insights into electrophysiological and molecular mechanisms, novel approaches to diagnosis and risk prediction, and state-of-the-art therapeutic strategies. Particular emphasis will be placed on the evolving field of atrial fibrillation ablation, including innovations in mapping technologies, energy sources, and patient selection.

We welcome original research, reviews, etc., spanning basic science, translational research, and clinical practice, as well as contributions involving digital health, artificial intelligence, imaging, wearable devices, and population-based studies. By integrating diverse disciplines, this Special Issue seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of current progress and future directions in the management of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.
